Sveta Helena – Mednarodni viteški turnir
Na prostoru okoli kapele Sv. Helena in gradu v Sveti Heleni bo 16. in 17. maja organiziran tradicionalni Mednarodni viteški turnir.

Poleg približno deset srednjeveških taborov, maket utrdb, srednjeveških bojnih naprav in bojev vitezov bodo na dogodku ponudili tudi številne delavnice kot so: srednjeveške kuhinje, kovnice denarja, lokostrelstva, srednjeveške inkvizicije, idr.. Na turnirju se pričakujejo številne srednjeveške viteške skupine iz Madžarske, Češke, Slovenije in Portugalske. Turnir se organizira v spomin na bitko pri Sv. Heleni, ki predstavlja eno najbolj pomembnih zmag Hrvatov nad turškimi osvajalci.

Bitka se je zgodila 19. avgusta leta 1557 na ravnini ob reki Lonju pod Sveto Heleno, v njej pa je hrvaška vojska, vodena s kapetanom Ivanom Lenkovićem zmagala močnejšo turško vojsko in jo spravila v beg. V programu je tudi prikaz večera pred bitko in en dan v življenju hrvaških kmetov, obrtnikov in vojakov v tem, za obrambo Hrvaške od napada Turkov, ključnem letu.

Na ta dan se bodo zbrali obrtniki starih veščin in pokazali svoje obrtniške izdelke in obrtniške veščine, varoval pa jih bo vojni tabor oskrbljen z replikami srednjeveškega orožja. V viteških taborih si bodo obiskovalci lahko ogledali celoten arzenal srednjeveškega orožja, pisanih ščitov in pločevinastih kostumov.

Če postanete lačni se lahko okrepčate z vročo kašo pripravljeno iz pozabljenih žitaric ali pa s po srednjeveški recepturi pripravljeno gosko začinjeno z medom. Na viteškem turnirju Svete Helene vam ni treba biti samo opazovalec saj se tudi vi lahko vključite v viteške igre, preizkusite v lokostrelstvu, popeljete s kočijo ali zajahate konja. Sveta Helena je naselje pri mestu Svetega Ivana Zeline na severovzhodnem delu Zagrebške županije oddaljeno približno 30 km od Zagreba.
