Praznovanje 100 rojstnega dne nogometnega kluba Hajduk iz Splita so zabeležili tudi številni svetovni mediji, na mnogih spletnih portalih pa so objavljeni video posnetki nedavnega impresivnega ognjemeta nad Splitom in okolice dubrovniških zidov. Ob tem so mnogi bralci v komentarjih izrazili navdušenje nad spektaklom, ki so ga za navzoče pripravili na nebu.

Ameriški CNN je tako v opis proslave v mestu dodal stavek «Split je potrdil svoj status najbolj norega mesta na svetu», poleg dodal video posnetek gorečega Splita in obenem spomnil na slavno zgodovino mesta in kluba za katerega to mesto živi.

»Spektakel je ovekovečila Torcida, najstarejša navijaška skupina v Evropi, ki deluje že več kot 50 let. Uživajte v pogledu na najbolj noro mesto na svetu, ta epitet je Split resnično upravičil«, je objavil CNN.

Ugledni francoski športni časnik L’Equip je prav tako poročal o Hajdukovi stoletnici in omenil, da je Hajduk trikrat v svoji zgodovini igral v četrtfinalu Lige prvakov.

S proslavo ob stoletnici kluba so se ljubitelji Hajduka spomnili skupine študentov, ki so iz Prage prinesli idejo o ustanovitvi nogometnega kluba, ki je bil ustanovljen 13. februarja leta 1911.

Hajdukovo proslavo sta pospremili tudi krovni svetovni in evropski nogometni organizaciji. FIFA je na svoji uradni spletni strani objavila, da se je proslava pričela s »spektakularnim ognjemetom iznad stadiona na Poljudu«.

Na spletni strani UEFA-e pa so objavili naslov »Hajduk obeležil stoletnico s stilom«.

Spletna stran »Yahoo Sports« je veliko pozornost namenila spektakularnemu ognjemetu in baklam ter priložila dve sliki in video posnetek iz Dubrovnika na čigar zidovih so hajdukovi navijači prižgali na stotine bakel.

»Hajdukovi navijači poznani tudi kot Torcida, najstarejša navijaška skupina v Evropi, so dali vse od sebe, da bi Split in nekaj okoliških krajev s tisočimi baklami bil viden iz vesolja«, je napisal Yahoo Sports in šaljivo zaključil, da » to očitno ni bil sijajen dan samo za Hajduk in njegove navijače, temveč tudi za vsakogar, ki na Hrvaškem prodaja bakle«.
