Ak máte radi mladé víno - príďte na oslavu Sv. Martina
V katolíckom kalendári sa 11. novembra oslavuje sviatok sv. Martina. Najmä v severozápadnej časti Chorvátska sa sviatok Sv. Martina oslavuje ako sviatok vína, resp. dozrievania vína burčiaku. Je to dôvod na veľkolepé oslavy, kde mnohí vinohradníci a ich kamaráti ďakujú Sv. Martinovi za dobrú úrodu a mladé víno.

Oslavy Sv. Martina pochádzajú z predkresťanskej doby a označujú obdobie, keď sa dokončujú práce mimo domova, resp. v poli a začínajú sa prípravy na zimu. Vo vinohradníckych oblastiach sa oslavuje dokončenie všetkých vinohradníckych aktivít a v období pred Sv. Martinom burčiak končí s kvasením a stáva sa mladým vínom.

Oslavy Sv. Martina sa tradične každý rok, "pracovne a veselo" oslavujú v širšom okolí Záhrebu. S tradíciou a bohatým programom vedie miesto Dugo Selo, ktorého patrónom je práve Sv. Martin a oslavy sa konajú aj v mestách Samobor, Sv. Ivan Zelina, Velika Gorica a Jastrebarsko. V Koprivnicko-križevackej župe bude pokrstený burčiak v meste Križevci a Kalnik a v Medjimurskej župe na vínnej ceste Štrigova.

Mladé víno sa bude krstiť aj v iných početných mestách severozápadného Chorvátska. O tom, že sa táto tradícia dodržuje aj v iných častiach krajiny, sa môžete presvedčiť v istrijských miestach Momjan, Rovinj, Vrsar, Barban a Buzet.
