La rénovation de l’hôtel Histria, célèbre hôtel à Pula, a débuté. L’hôtel, qui est la propriété d’Arenaturist, possèdera 4 étoiles et un nouveau nom, Park Plaza Histria, car il va faire partie de la célèbre marque des Hôtels Park Plaza. Les travaux devraient être achevés en mai 2012. Cet investissement est, avec l'agencement des appartements à Punta Verudela, l'un des plus importants dans la région d'Istrie. 

On investira 25 millions d'euros dans l’hôtel Histria et Punta Verudela et dans l'infrastructure environnante, dont les jardins. L'hôtel et son complexe ne changeront pas d'aspect extérieur car la plupart des rénovations sont relatives aux chambres. On rénovera ainsi 233 chambres et 9 suites, un centre de conférence, et toutes les salles seront équipées de la technologie la plus moderne. Le plus grand changement se produira au plus bas étage de l'hôtel qui va complètement changer d'aspect. Il y aura une piscine intérieure, un nouveau centre de bien-être et un spa avec saunas et salles de massage et traitements de beauté, salles de relaxation et fitness dans plus de 1000 m². On ne fera pas, pour le moment, de changements dans la partie de l’hôtel équipée de la discothèque et du casino. 

Après la rénovation de Punta Verudela, le complexe comptera 18 villas, 436 nouveaux appartements et 123 studios. On réorganisera, avec des zones d'hébergement, la piscine extérieure, l’espace dédié aux enfants et aux commerces et on introduira de nouvelles installations sportives. 

La deuxième entreprise hôtelière d’Istrie, Maistra, prévoit la construction d’une nouvelle piscine entre l’hôtel Eden et Lone, ses hôtels haut de gamme. La piscine devrait couvrir les besoins de ces deux hôtels. Le groupe Maistra veut aussi réaménager la plage de l’hôtel Monte Mulini. La valeur de ce projet est de 35 millions de kunas.
