Les drapeaux bleus - 116 plages et 20 marinas
C’est la 14ème année de suite que les drapeaux bleus sont hissés solennellement dans de nombreux lieux touristiques croates au début de la saison touristique, à l'occasion de la Journée mondiale de la protection de l'environnement.

Qui plus est, les plages croates ont obtenu cette année une reconnaissance supplémentaire de la Commission européenne. Dans son rapport il est en effet précisé que la Croatie, grâce à la pureté de ses eaux balnéaires, fait partie des nations phares la qualité de ses eaux de baignade, bien au dessus de la moyenne européenne.

«Le drapeau bleu» est un programme écologique international de protection de l'environnement maritime et littoral, dont l'objectif est la gestion du développement durable et l’administration de ce territoire. Une soixantaine de pays dont le tourisme fait partie des objectifs stratégiques participent à ce programme.
Le Drapeau bleu n’est attribué que pour une seule saison, de telle sorte que la demande formelle doit être renouvelée chaque année si l’on veut obtenir de nouveau cette reconnaissance.

Cette année 116 plages croates et 20 marinas ont obtenu le drapeau bleu. La plupart d'entre elles, même 20, sont situées près de Poreč, et suivent Rovinj et Vrsar, chacune avec 9 plages. Les plages dans la partie continentale de la Croatie, dont les cinq se trouvant au lac Jarun de Zagreb, ont obtenu six drapeaux.
