Le magazine Traveller de National Geographic a classé la Croatie sur sa liste de croisières, des voyages de la vie pour l’année 2011. Plus précisément, il s'agit de croisière en voiliers, ce qui est, selon la journaliste de Traveller, Margaret Loftus, «un peu - rétro, un peu – de l'esprit méditerranéen». Traveller publie chaque année le top-50, la liste des voyages à faire indispensablement dans sa vie. Parmi les milliers de voyages on choisit ceux qui offrent aux touristes une culture lointaine et des expériences qui vont les changer. L'auteur de la liste déclare que la recherche d'excursions d'aventure, les voyages en famille et les croisières en petits navires qui ont été conçus pour créer une expérience, sont écologiquement durables et encouragent la création de liens culturels.

La Croatie se trouve dans le top 50 des destinations internationales, grâce aux croisières sur les vieux voiliers qui étaient autrefois les principaux fournisseurs de nourriture pour les habitants des îles le long des mille et une centaines de kilomètres de côte Adriatique. Ils peuvent maintenant accueillir de 20-40 passagers et naviguent le long de l'Adriatique au rythme des plus décontracté.

Elle recommande également de visiter les ports dans les villes médiévales fortifiées, villages de pêcheurs aux toits orange, des vignes et des plages de sable blanc ou simplement profiter de la vue depuis le bateau.

L'auteur de l'article souligne le bon rapport qualité prix de la prestation, la citant comme la meilleure parmi les croisières européennes en promotion.
