La empresa hotelera más grande de Kvarner, Liburnia Riviera Hoteles (LRH) de Opatija, ha iniciado grandes inversiones. Primero reformará la fachada de uno de los hoteles más antiguos de Opatija, Kvarner, del año 1884, y a continuación comenzará la reconstrucción de su conocida terraza. Las obras deberían estar finalizadas para la primavera del año que viene. También comenzará el lavado de cara en el interior de la Sala de Cristal que se acondicionará para poder ofrecer la organización de diferentes seminarios, congresos y otros eventos. Estas obras también deberían estar finalizadas en la primavera del año 2012.

Las inversiones previstas para este invierno incluyen al resto de los hoteles del grupo LRH: el hotel Ambasador, y la villa Ambasador, el hotel Kristal de Opatija, el hotel Bristol de Lovran y el hotel Marina de Moscenicka Draga.

Contemplan la posibilidad de comenzar la primera fase de inversión en el camping Medveja donde instalarían 20 nuevas casas prefabricadas.

LRH tiene previsto invertir alrededor de 5 millones de euros durante el siguiente año en la reconstrucción de hoteles, añadir contenidos, arreglar las playas y las fachadas y completar el equipamiento y el mantenimiento. Estas inversiones son parte del total de la inversión que asciende a 65 millones de euros que la empresa LRH tiene previsto invertir en el período del año 2011 al año 2016.
