Gornja Vala in the town of Gradac is one of the most famous shingle beaches on the Makarska Riviera and one of the largest beaches on the Adriatic. It is 5 kilometres long, on a slope, surrounded by olive trees and pine forests. It creates an incomparable holiday by the sea with a view of the Biokovo mountains. Due to being sheltered from the wind, Gornja Vala is often a good anchoring place for small boats. A restaurant and a cafe on the beach offer welcome refreshment.
