Holiday in the embrace of mountains and rivers

Skradin, Drniš and Knin, shaped under the gusts of the bora wind, developed in central Dalmatia. Many people in the area say that the bora has made them stronger and enabled them to live in the area dominated by the mountains Dinara, Svilaja and Promina, and the rivers Krka and Čikola.

The area of Skradin, Drniš and Knin is ideal for an active holiday in nature. Whether you are a fan of trekking, cycling, mountaineering or you just want to enjoy the coast, in these towns you will find activities to fill your days. The proximity of the National Park Krka will enable you to learn more about the various flora and fauna living there. If you dig deeper into the hinterland and engage in an adventure, this area will reward you with a view of natural beauties such as the Skradinski Buk waterfall, Prukljan, Visovac Lake, Roški waterfall and Krčić.

Skradin, Drniš and Knin offer accommodation in several modernly furnished hotels and apartments, which have kept a dose of heritage within, while you can enjoy the culinary specialties of Dalmatia and the coast in dozens of restaurants which offer delicious fish and meat dishes and the world famous Drniš prosciutto. Good food always implies wine, and this area can boast several premium wine sorts, such as Debit, Maraština and Lasina.

This area of Dalmatia is deeply connected with gastronomy, so during your visit you will be able to enjoy many food festivals. The most famous festivals are the International Prosciutto Festival and the Cheese Festival in Drniš, where you can try the selected kinds of famous Dalmatian salty cheese made locally, especially the homemade cheese ripened in the skin of a lamb. Taste the culture of the local population at the Knin festival Vinkovo, an event celebrating the life of Dalmatian peasants, and at the Fair of Traditional Products and Old Crafts or the Festival of the Rural Culture in Knin.
