Green rhapsody at the origin of heritage

In the northernmost part of Croatia, bordered by the rivers Mura and Drava, is the picturesque Međimurje, which is also called the Croatian flower garden, owing to the many animals and plants. As it is near the capital of Croatia and its airport, this area has excellent connections with the rest of Europe, from where the majority of guests arrive.

There are many events in Međimurje, which present the beauties, the culture and the customs of the area. If you want to learn about the arts in Međimurje every year the young people of Međimurje prepare the Children’s Festival of Međimurje Songs, where you can see how the beauties of the local music are passed on from one generation to the other. The nostalgic among you will enjoy the International Old-Timer Meetings, which gathers numerous car fans every year. If you would like to taste a bit of adventure on your holiday you should definitely try out the International Sail of Mura Traditional Boats and the Pannonian Marathon of Three Countries, where fans of an active holiday compete every year to be the first to get their teams to the goal. The Porcijunkulovo event takes place in the summer and attracts visitors from Croatia and the neighbouring countries with its programmes of events.
