The ancient heart of the Dalmatian region

Three towns with incredible pasts, Kaštela, Trogir and Okrug, found their home in the centre of Dalmatia. The proximity of the Adriatic Sea and the mountains Kozjak and Mosor enables these towns to thrill their visitors throughout the year with numerous activities, both on land and at sea. Just a few kilometres away from Split, the heart of Dalmatia and one of the largest Croatian cities, this area has excellent connections with the rest of Croatia. Besides the highway connecting the north and the south, there is also an airport from which planes take off towards many European countries.

Start your trip by visiting the old churches which hold the Croatian heritage and the tales of its long past. If you would like to experience a bit of adrenaline fun besides culture, you have diving centres at your disposal, which will enable you to take a peak under the surface of the Adriatic and get to know the mysterious underwater caves, which hide the diverse fish world.

The inhabitants of Kaštela, Trogir and Okrug have prepared numerous hotels and apartments for you to rest. After you settle down comfortably, start exploring the offer of local food and excellent wines.

Every day there are many historical and cultural events held in these three towns, which will introduce you to the world of Antiquity and the Middle Ages, as well as traditional crafts and Dalmatian heritage. Visit the Festival Kairos and see how Dalmatia becomes the centre of the ancient world for one day. On the Medieval Fair, go back to the days of kings and knights. The Vridne ruke obale, zagore i škoja festival and the International Artcraft and Intangible Heritage Festival HAND Days are the right place if you want to learn how old Dalmatians used to live.
