The new tourist web portal World of Tourism (WoT)

The new tourist web portal World of Tourism (WoT)
World of Tourism (WoT) is the new tourist-information portal which should soon be launched and its creators from the company Jadranska Grupa claim that it will be a tourism version of the world’s social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. The portal aims to connect tourism companies with tourists and the authors expect to have 250 thousand registered users by the end of 2011. Unlike the existing social networks, only business users will be able to do searches on this portal. The difference will also be in the existence of two address books - private and business - and the ability to conduct video calls. Gastronomic offers, charters, accommodation units etc. will be advertised on the portal, while it will also be possible to place job offers and search for positions in the tourism industry.

It has recently been announced in Zadar, where WoT was officially introduced, that this new tourism social network will enable the promotion of destinations and tourist attractions. The portal should help to directly connect tourists with tourism service providers. Information on tourism will be available on the portal as will be the quick and easy communication with all the companies involved in the WoT portal project. Through their personal profiles, users will be able to publish their experiences, give recommendations and reviews, upload photographs and videos, communicate with other private users through a private messaging service, conduct video calls and chat, grade tourism services and contact advertisers. The portal will be available in ten world languages.
