Vodice – Neue touristische Zone
Bekanntes Reiseziel in Dalmatien, Vodice, sollte in Kürze sein touristisches Angebot bereichern. Die neue städtebauliche Planung sieht nämlich die Einrichtung der gastro-touristischen Zone Donja Srima vor, in der Ferienvillen und Hotels mit 4 und mehr Sternen entstehen sollen. Es handelt sich um ein ausserordentlich attraktives Gebiet direkt am Meer, zwischen Srima und Jadrija in der Nähe von Vodice, auf dem der Ausbau touristischer Kapazitäten bis zu 4500 Betten und eines Golfplatzes geplant ist.

Vodice liegen an der Küste, in einer ruhigen, weiten Bucht, 11 km entfernt von Šibenik.

Die Entstehungsgeschichte von Vodice ist eng verbunden mit dem Baubeginn der Kirche des Heiligen Kreuzes neben dem heutigen Hotel Punat, 1402. Der Name des Ortes wurde in diesem Jahr zum ersten mal urkundlich erwähnt, wie es die Archive von Sibenik belegen. Schon zu dieser Zeit zeichnete sich der Ort Vodice durch die Besonderheit aus, dass sie Trinkwasser exportierten, was bis ans Ende des 19. Jh fortgesetzt wurde. Der Ort entwickelte sich gerade dank seinen Brackwasserbrunnen. Auf dem Hauptplatz des Ortes sind zwei dieser Brunnen als Erinnerung an die Tradition und altes Brauchtum erhalten geblieben. Heute ist der Ort Vodice eine bekannte Reisedestination der mittleren Adria, mit reichgefächertem Angebot, das man hier schon vor 50 Jahren zu entwickeln begann.
