Karlovec – študija trajnostnega razvoja kaštela Starega grada Dubovca.
Študija trajnostnega razvoja kulturne atrakcije Stari grad Dubovac, obnovljenega renesančnega kaštela, je pred kratkim predstavljena javnosti. Gre za Študijo, ki prikazuje velike turistične možnosti te karlovške kulturno-zgodovinske lokacije čigar večletno obnovo financira Ministrstvo kulture.

Stari grad Dubovac stoji na hribu iznad reke Kolpe, od tam pa lahko uživate v pogledu na celoten Karlovec. V 15. in 16. stoletju je bil v lasti knezov Frankopanov in Zrinski. Stari grad je statično in konstrukcijsko obnovljen, potrebno pa je urediti še notranjost. Obnova renesančnega kaštela z elementi gotike, s tremi stolpi in štirikotnim obrambnim stolpom zajema vse in ponuja možnost visokega nivoja vlaganja. Študija ponuja odgovor tudi na vprašanje kaj in kako v prihodnosti planirati na tem kulturno-zgodovinskem prostoru.

Poleg ureditve nekaj »namestitvenih enot z gostinsko ponudbo« je možno urediti tudi dvorano za kongresni in kulturni turizem, kot tudi edinstveno otroško igrišče za »obleganje utrdbe«. Na ta način bi se stari grad Dubovac uvrstil v evropsko mrežo starih gradov in utrdb.

Turistični delavci in javno-zasebni investitorji bi morali glede na predstavljeno Študijo v karlovškem mestnem predelu Dubovac urediti muzej pivovarstva, sprehajališča in tematske poti po Dubovačkem gozdu do bližnje Kolpe in Jezerca, spodbuditi zasebna vlaganja na eko posestvu Petrovac in drugje ter ustvariti programe ob zgodovinskih cestah Karolini in Lujzijani. Pomemben del programa v Starem gradu Dubovac bi morala biti tudi kulturno-turistična ponudba, gledališke predstave, koncerti in festivali.
