Thomas Cook se vrača v Pulj in Split
Eden vodilnih britanskih touroperaterjev – Thomas Cook se naslednjo sezono vrača na hrvaški trg. Program, ki ga bo družba uvrstila v svoje kataloge bo vključeval Istro in srednjo Dalmacijo oziroma enkrat tedenske polete iz Manchestera ter Londona za Pulj ter dva leta na teden iz Londona za Split. Thomson, drugi med največjimi v Veliki Britaniji, je potrdil vse lanskoletne linije iz Londona, Manchestera, Birminghama in Bristola za Pulj in Dubrovnik, medtem ko je British Airways potrdil celoletno linijo za Dubrovnik.

Slednje je bilo najavljeno na turističnemu sejmu World Travel Market v Londonu – vodilnemu svetovnemu sejmu turistične industrije, kjer se vsako leto zbere približno 50.000 turističnih profesionalcev.

Hrvaška je v prvih desetih mesecih leta 2010 na britanskem trgu zabeležila rast v višini štirih odstotkov v prihodih in petih odstotkov v nočitvah. Največji del Britancev, ki so obiskali Hrvaško (približno tretjina) je počitnikoval v Dubrovniku, ki ima v Veliki Britaniji že vrsto let status brezhibne destinacije.

Na sejmu v Londonu je najavljeno, da ima Svetovna turistična organizacija – UNWTO, s ciljem promocije pomembnosti turizma v sprejemanju globalnih političnih in ekonomskih odločitev, v letu 2011 prvič v načrtih najmanj dva globalna turistična foruma med katerima bo eden, ki bo vezan za medije organiziran v septembru na Hrvaškem. To bo prvi svetovni kongres turističnih novinarjev v organizaciji UNWTO-ja, na katerem se pričakuje približno 700 turističnih novinarjev iz celega sveta.
