Otok Pag je destinacija, ki je prepoznavna predvsem zaradi svoje znamenite plaže Zrče pri Novalji, ki so jo svetovni mediji poimenovali tudi kot hrvaško Ibizo. Manj znano pa je, da na tem otoku proizvajajo tudi vrhunske sire. Priča temu je priznanje pridobljeno na svetovnem prvenstvu, ki je potekalo v Briminghamu in na katerem je žirija, sestavljena iz 200 strokovnjakov iz celega sveta, z zlatimi medaljami v treh kategorijah: ovčji, trdi siri in novi siri, nagradila paški sir družine Gligora.

Sir družine Gligora iz Kolana iz otoka Paga, ki ga hrvaški strokovnjaki že dalj časa opisujejo kot kultni izdelek, je zlate medalje osvojil v konkurenci med približno 2600 siri iz Evrope, ZDA, Azije, Afrike, Avstralije in drugih držav sveta. Člani žirije so ocenili, da gre za pravi domači sir z odličnim ravnotežjem vseh okusov, v katerem se čutijo aromatične trave z otoka Paga. Družina Gligora proizvaja sire že 15 let, poleg paškega sira proizvaja še sire žigljen, kolan, kozlar, figurica, mladi trapist in druge.

Posebnost paškega sira je njegova trdota in slanost ter specifičen vonj in okus, ki jih sir pridobi zaradi aromatičnih rastlin in paške burje, ki na pašnike nanaša morsko sol. Namreč paške ovce, katere vzgajajo na hribovitih površinah, so zaradi pogoste burje izpostavljene soli. Prav slednja, žajbelj in smilj vplivajo na specifično in prepoznavno aromo paškega sira.

Otok Pag je eden največjih in najbolj razčlenjenih jadranskih otokov, poln zalivov, uval, rtov in plaž. Paško uvalo obkroža 20 kilometrov prodnatih plaž.
