Đakovo – Prvi slavonski hotel s petimi zvezdicami
Slavonija bo prihodnje leto bogatejša za prvi hotel s petimi zvezdicami. Hotel Bischof bo grajen v sklopu stanovanjsko-poslovnega-hotelskega kompleksa v središču Đakova.

Ponujal bo 39 sob in dva apartmaja, wellness center in ostalo ponudbo, ki jo zahteva ta visoka kategorija. V kompleks, ki je poimenovan » Đakovo centar«, s površino 27.000 kvadratnih metrov, je bilo do sedaj vloženih 20 milijonov evrov, poleg hotela pa se bo v Centru zgradilo okoli sto stanovanj, poslovni prostori in podzemne garaže. Skupna vrednost naložbe znaša 37 milijonov evrov.

Z odprtjem hotela s petimi zvezdicami se bo turistična ponudba Đakova še dodatno popestrila. Đakovo je mesto, ki je poznano po katedrali, baziliki sv. Petra, ki je bila zgrajena med letoma 1866 in 1882 in za katero je papež Ivan XXIII izjavil, da je najlepša cerkev od Benetk do Carigrada. Njenih sedem bogato okrašenih oltarjev, številni kipi, reliefi in freske poznanih mojstrov nikogar ne pustijo ravnodušnega. V izgradnji katedrale je bilo uporabljenih sedem milijonov opek iz opekarne đakovačke škofije, kamen pa so uvozili iz različnih evropskih krajev. Katedrala je bila zgrajena v mešanem romanskem, gotskem in renesančnem stilu, njeni sodobniki pa so je poimenovali »pošast narave«.
V Đakovu se nahaja tudi ena najstarejših evropskih kobilarn (ergela), ki je bila ustanovljena leta 1506, kjer se vzrejajo konji lipicanci. Kobilarno in Đakovo je leta 1972 obiskala tudi angleška kraljica Elizabeta II, leta 2003 pa papež Ivan Pavel II.
