Mediteran kot je nekoč bil
Kutjevo – vinska prestolnica kontinentalne Hrvaške. Mestece se nahaja v plodoviti požeški 'zlati' dolini, na južnem delu Krndije in Papuka, v ozki dolini reke Kutjevčanke. Znamenita kutjevška vinska klet hrani arhivska vina - zelo znano kutjevačko graševino, sivi pinot, beli pinot, traminec, renski rizling. Ob kompleksu kleti in vinskega obrata se nahaja čudoviti grad Kutjevo, ki je s podzemnim prehodom povezan z vinsko kletjo. V gradu sta nekoč bivala znameniti baron Franjo Trenk ter cesarica Marija Terezija.

Kutjevško Vincelovo je tradicionalna in zelo obiskana vinska prireditev, ki označuje začetek rezanja vinske trte. Takrat v mestu - na Trgu graševine - poteka pravo slavje, pečejo se slavonske klobase in slanina, zraven pa se ponujajo znamenita vina. Prireditev spremljajo tamburaši ter pevski zbori.
Slavonija ima odlične pogoje za vzgojo grozdja in pridelavo vina. Slavonska vina so se v preteklosti pogosto znašla na mizah cesarjev in visokih dostojanstvenikov, iz te tradicije pa izhajajo tudi današnji slavonski vinogradi: sremski, baranjski in djakovski na vzhodu ter kutjevški na zahodu Slavonije.

Slavonija ima zares izvrstne pogoje za proizvodnjo velikih količin vrhunskega vina, še posebej belega. Težko je reči, kateri slavonski vinogradi so kakovostnejši in izzivalnejši: sremski in baranjski v Podonavju, djakovski v vzhodni ali kutjevski v središčni Slavoniji.

Epicenter razvoja slavonskega vinarstva je področje okoli Kutjeva. Enjingi, Kauthaker in PPK Kutjevo so najvažnejši slavonski pridelovalci, Enjingijevo in, še posebej, Krauthakerjevo neprestano eksperimentiranje z novimi sortami definitivno oddaljuje sodobno Slavonijo od imidža monokulture graševine, kot se je zdelo pred šestimi ali sedmimi leti.
