Če boste obiskali turistično regijo Lika – Karlovec, ki dalmatinsko obalo povezuje z osrednjim delom države, boste bližje odgovorom. Moč pokrajine nemara najbolj izkaže lepota Nacionalnega parka Plitvička jezera, fenomena, ki privablja tako z edinstvenostjo kot s svojimi učinki na psihično in fizično zdravje. Nacionalni park Severni Velebit pa je področje izrazite raznolikosti kraških pojavov, bogastva živega sveta in izjemnih naravnih lepot na relativno majhnem prostoru.

Jugozahodno od Zagreba, na tranzitnem položaju, zgrajen po konceptu pravega renesančnega idealnega mesta v obliki šesterokrake zvezde kot sloviti bastion, ki se je močno upiral turškemu vdoru, zaznamovan z vodami štirih rek in gozdnatim gorovjem Velike in Male Kapele, se nahaja mesto Karlovac. Poleg tega, da je idealno mesto za kopanje v čistih sladkih vodah, na in v katerih se lahko vesla, splavari, lovi ribe, rafta, vozi s kanuji, je tudi odlično mesto za lov po gozdovih, ki se razprostirajo od Draganića do gore Klek in Modruša ter za smučanje na pobočjih Bjelolasice. S svojo obliko je Klek že zdavnaj dajal navdih narodni domišljiji in zato boste tukaj slišali zgodbo o slavnih kleških čarovnicah, ki se v času nevihtnih noči okoli polnoči zbirajo iz celega sveta, njihov ples (kolo) in vpitje pa odmevata vse do Ogulina na reki Dobri.
