La Méditerranée retrouvée
La ville de Zaprešić s’est développée près de Zagreb, du côté nord-ouest. Beaucoup d’habitants de Zagreb voit en elle leur future résidence. Le ban (ban: titre de fonctionnaire d’état) croate Josip Jelačić, lui, y a déménagé il y a longtemps dont témoigne Novi dvorci Jelačičevi (Le Nouveau château de Jelačić), l’une des seigneuries féodales les mieux conservées en Croatie. A proximité directe se trouvent encore quelques châteaux, Januševec, Jakovlje, Laduč, Gornja Bistra, Jakovlje et un grand nombre d’églises.

Le lac Zajarki avec sa pêche sportive et la rivière Krapina sont de vrais paradis pour les pêcheurs, tandis que le Parc naturel Medvenica offre de parfaites conditions aux promeneurs, randonneurs et skieurs. A l’ouest de la ville, en direction de la frontière slovène, commence la zone touristique "Po Sutli i Žumberku" (à travers Sutla et Žumberak).

En plus de l’équitation, du parapente, du deltaplane, du motocross, du cyclisme, du golf et de la bonne offre gastronomique, on y trouve aussi des manifestations déjà traditionnelles ("Dani Jelačića" - Les Journées de Jelačić », "Žetvene svečanosti" - les Festivités de la moisson, etc.) qui font de cette petite ville un lieu intéressant à visiter.
