Orebić, autrefois connu comme un centre maritime, ce dont témoigne le Musée de la Marine, se situe juste au pied de la colline Sveti Ilija (Saint Elie) sur la presqu'île de Pelješac en face de Korčula. De magnifiques plages de sable et de galets abritées du vent, un soleil abondant et la bonne qualité œnologique des vignobles de Pelješac (grands crus dingač, plavac, ...) permette des vacances de qualité à tous les touristes.

Pour ceux qui aiment les vacances actives, Pelješac offre diverses possibilités; surf (situation idéale dans le canal de Pelješac), voile, plongée sous-marine, ... Il est évidemment aussi possible de se promener le long des sentiers pédestres ou des pistes cyclables à travers une nature fantastique, ou encore de faire des randonnées, en particulier sur le plus haut sommet de Pelješac, Sveti Ilija (961 m). Enfin, sur la haute pente de Sveti Ilija, s'élancent les courageux parapentistes qui peuvent jouir de leur vol et d'une magnifique vue sur le canal de Pelješac, les nombreux îlots, Mljet et Lastovo.
