Parcs nationaux

 
Le parc national  – Brijuni est un archipel de deux grandes et 12 petites îles le long de la côte ouest istrienne. Les Kornati, l’archipel le plus dense de la Méditerranée comptant au total 152 îles, îlots et de récifs dont 89 sont dispersés entre Dugi otok et Žirje constituent un ensemble spécifique, le Parc National des Kornati. Le Parc national de Krka, phénomène naturel et karstique comptant 7 cascades, est riche en espèces endémiques. Le Parc national de Paklenica, divisé en Petit et Grand Paklenica se trouve dans la partie Sud du Velebit, le plus grand massif montagneux de Croatie. Le Parc national de Plitvice, le parc national croate le plus connu, est le seul ensemble naturel inscrit au patrimoine de l’UNESCO.

Le Parc national de Risnjak à côté de Delnice est un espace montagneux boisé situé au Nord de Rijeka dans lequel de nombreuses espèces sauvages ont trouvé refuge et accueillant la source de la rivière Kupa, un phénomène hydrologique naturel. Le Parc national de Velebit constitue l’ensemble le plus intéressant du Nord du Velebit. Situé au Sud-ouest de Dubrovnik, le parc national de Mljet s’étend sur la partie ouest boisée de l’île de Mljet à la végétation méditerranéenne et au patrimoine culturel très riches.
