Il faut préciser tout de suite que le carnaval d’été à Pag est le plus ancien de l’Adriatique. Cette longue tradition garantit aux visiteurs une expérience hors du commun. Le carnaval dure deux jours, avec un défilé le premier jour, puis un concours de masques doté de riches récompenses, le 26 octobre. Les associations culturelles et artistiques et les choeurs d’enfants assurent une ambiance joyeuse. Les visiteurs peuvent se joindre à la traditionnelle Ronde de Pag, rythmée par la fanfare de la ville. La fin du carnaval est toujours un temps fort: à Pag, un mannequin prénommé Marko est brûlé sur la grand’ place afin de chasser les mauvais esprits pour toute l’année à venir.
