The island of Vis in central Dalmatia is on the list of the ten undiscovered dream island, together with the Italian Ischia, the Vietnam island Cat Ba, Fakarawa in French Polynesia, island of Yap in Micronesia and others, as it has been recently announced by the Yahoo Travel.

" With its medieval villages, deserted beaches, ancient ruins, rambling olive groves, and the best vineyards in Dalmatia, Vis is poised to become the next "it spot" for sun and fun on the Adriatic, says the description of this Croatian island " The winding streets of the two main towns – Vis and Komiža – are brimming with restaurants serving delicious seafood and Italian-style fare, while miles of sandy beaches, pebbly enclaves, and glittering shores attract sunbathers", the text goes on, noting that Vis is just two hours by ferry and about little more than an hour and half by catamaran from Split.

The bay of Srebrna is specially emphasized as one of the most beautiful beaches on Vis. Also the problem of hotel accommodation shortage on Vis is noted, so the visitors are recommended renting private apartments and villas.  The list of undiscovered island paradises, where visitors do not need to share their part of the beach with innumerable other tourists, Yahoo has taken over from the tourist web portal Sherman's Travel.

On this list there are also: the island of Anegada, in the British Virgin Islands, the island Madeleine in Canadian Quebec, Lamu in Kenia, Monhegan in the US state of Maine and Terre-de-Haut in the island group of Guadeloupe.
