After more than 150 years, there recently arrived in Sisak a foreign passenger ship, the river cruiser "Victor Hugo", and before that the ship had docked in Slavonski Brod. Thus the two towns on Kupa and Sava rivers enrolled on the tourist map of Europe with new offerings and content. On the cruiser "Victor Hugo", on its way from Budapest and Belgrade, hundreds of tourists arrived from Hungary, France, Belgium and Canada. After the ceremonial welcome, they toured Slavonski Brod and Sisak, and their surroundings.
The sailing of the first passenger ship in the area’s recent history has sparked great interest and expectation that this event will further boost tourism development and tourist potential of the rivers Sava and Kupa.
After visiting Lonjsko polje tourists returned by boat to Slavonski Brod, then to Županja, Vukovar and Osijek, where they visited Kopački rit.
