The Nautical Centre ‘Prgin’ (NCP) in Mandalina near Šibenik has begun the construction of the first mega-yacht marina on the Adriatic. The marina, worth seventeen million euros, with 79 modern berths for mega yachts of up to one hundred meters in length, should be completed by June next year and fully ready for the reception of sailors in the next tourist season. It will be the first marina in this part of the Mediterranean that will be able to service megayachts owned, for example, by Roman Abramović, Bill Gates and other world class jet set who will then be able to visit Šibenik more often.
The investor in this mega marina project is the Turkish Dogus Group, which along with the NCP on Mandalina, plans to build a nautical resort worth at least one hundred million Euros. The plan is to build several five-star hotels, twenty luxury villas with swimming pools, marinas and other nautical activities.
