The youth hostels in Rijeka and Dubrovnik are the first hostels in Croatia which have been awarded the certificate of HI-Quality, internationally acknowledged and the only system of quality insurance which is specially created and aimed for hostels.
A detailed inspection of the hostel, from facility management, reception operation, cleaning, maintenance and kitchen, has been recently conducted by Iddan Kroll, the chief HI-Quality auditor of the Hostelling International, the largest global network of accommodation capacities gathering over eighty national hostel associations and about 4000 youth hostels.
So, the hostels of Rijeka and Dubrovnik have been listed among the only four hostels in East Europe with a HI-Q certificate. It is exactly the organization of work and the quality of performance of the hostel staff in all the Croatian youth hostels in line with the system of quality insurance (the HI-Quality) which represents the strategic goal of the Croatian holiday and hostel association (HFHS) in the development process of youth tourism and service quality and programme for young people from Croatia and abroad.
The plan of HFHS is to introduce the HI-Quality system in all their hostels in Zagreb, Zadar, Veli Lošinj and Pula by the end of 2011.
