Primošten – The renovation of the tourist zone Marina Lučica begins
The renovation project of the tourist zone Marina Lučica and the building works of a large tourist resort in Primošten will be starting soon. In Primošten, investors plan to build a few smaller five-star hotels, luxurious villas, a multy-purpose congress hall and a number of sporting and recreational grounds. The starting phase would ensure accommodation for 1200 visitors and the value of the project is around 200 million euros.

According to the project, the service zone will be separated from the tourist one and the roofs of this zone will be covered with solar panels as to save energy used for water heating. The authentic horticulture also needed to be well preserved so the horticulture experts and park architects composed a list of species in the whole area so they can be planted again when the architectural and green zones are defined.

Primošten is a tourist town located 28 km south of Šibenik. Firstly, it was located on an island not far from land which was in 1542, at the time of the Turkish aggression, protected by city walls and a drawbridge. In old documents Primošten is referred to as Caput Cista (naked head), while it was first mentioned by today`s name in 1564.

In time, the drawbridge was replaced by a dam, so Primošten became a peninsula, which together with the Raduča peninsula makes a unique natural entirety.

Accommodation of guests is possible in the hotels ‘Zora’ and ‘Slava’ as well as the auto camp ‘Adriatic’, while sailors have the marina ‘Kremik’ at their disposal.

Primošten is well known for its marvellous red wine Babić, which comes from the vineyards of Primošten. The vineyards are portrayed on a painting in the United Nations building in New York and represent a symbol of hard labour through centuries.
