Hotel Villa Magdalena, the first exclusive four star boutique hotel in Croatian Zagorje, has recently been enriched with a magnificent wellness centre that offers a whirpool, bio and Finish sauna, infrared sauna, showers, heated benches, a relaxing area and a whole range of programs and themed packages. The centre stretches across almost 100 square meters on the top floor of the hotel and the offer is additionally enriched with a panoramic view and the use of healing thermal water.

Hotel Villa Magdalena is a smaller modern boutique hotel with nine accommodation units that are luxuriously furnished and equipped with large individual terraces. The hotel is a member of the international organisation «Service d'information Code Diplomatique & Consilaire» (CD), and it is located 45 km from Zagreb on the hill side of Krapinske Toplice, a health spa and swimming centre, which has long been known for its medicinal thermal water that has been graded by quality experts as the sixth thermal water in the whole of Europe.

The first written trail about the usage of these thermal sources dates back to 1772, when three warm sources existed in this area. However, according to Roman coins found in this area, Krapinske Toplice were known even in Roman times by the name Aquae Vivae, or ‘living water’.

In the middle of the 19th century with the building of new baths, hotels, restaurants and health facilities the development of Krapinske Toplice as a spa facility was set as a favourite, modern destination for the recreation and healthcare of the Austro-Hungarian elite.
