The most popular tourism website in Russia, Travel.ru, has recently given out the annual awards to the best world destinations, air fleets, hotels and tourist agencies at the tourism fair MITT in Moscow. The winners are chosen by Russian tourists, and two of the 70 awards went to Croatia.

Dubrovnik was proclaimed the best holiday destination on the Mediterranean, while Dubrovnik Palace Hotel won the prize for the «The best beach hotel in Croatia». Among others in this category, were luxury hotels such as Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, the Four Seasons in Limassol and the Kempinski Hotel in Goa.

Travel.ru has been giving out awards since 2003, based on the results of Russian tourists’ internet voting.
