The website lonelyplanet.com has recently composed a list of the top ten destinations in Croatia, with the Baroque town of Varaždin in the first place. «Admire the impeccably preserved Baroque architecture in the former Croatian capital», says the article on the website, while describing tourist impressions of Croatia and its beauty.

Second place was taken by Zagreb, with recommendations for tourists to take a walk through the medieval streets of the Upper town, visit the galleries and enjoy the night life.

Samobor came in third on the list. «Refresh yourself in this attractive small town with a river and covered bridges», says lonelyplanet.com.

Pula came in fourth with descriptions of its rich history from Roman times, and as a specialty the website mentions the concerts held in the Arena, the Roman amphitheatre. The National Park Plitvice is in the middle of the top ten list described as a wonderful water land represented with numerous lakes and waterfalls. The National park Krka is in 6th place with the monastery on Visovac and the canyon of the river Krka mentioned as special attractions. The town of Hvar came in 7th and the island of Korčula 8th. In 9th place is the island of Mljet and the pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik, came in last.
