Dubrovnik was recently proclaimed the best tourist destination of Southeast Europe in Belgrade, as part of the tourism action `Let us choose the most successful places in tourism in Southeast Europe 2010’, of the International centre for tourism development and hospitality SACEN.

The competition encircled thirteen countries. Turkey was proclaimed the best tourist destination of Southeast Europe, the champion of sports tourism was Sport Tourism Portorož, and the winner of cultural tourism was The Tourist agency Herceg Novi. SACEN has been following the quality in the hospitality and tourism offer in Southeast Europe for 20 years and has been giving out awards to the most successful in 15 categories from 13 countries of the Southeast Europe region.
