The prestige Lonely Planet Magazine has published a 12 page report by Philip Marsden, under the title «Sailing in Croatia». The author was mesmerized by the beauty of Croatian islands, the sea, the imaginative gastronomy and the rich cultural heritage while sailing along the coast with the help of a skipper.

After Brač, Hvar and Šolta, he stopped in Vis, describing it as an island of wine, lime-stone terraces and olive groves. «Nothing embodies the restless, sea loving spirit of these islands better than Komiža» he wrote. He also visited the Fishing Museum in Komiža forest and noticed ancient historical traditions of the town that have lived to this day. In Korčula, through his personal experiences and stories from the locals, he went back to the distant past, describing the island as the home of Marco Polo, stating details from his life, his accomplishments and the influence of this world traveller.

Having seen outlines of Mljet and Latovo from the open sea, the author imagines battles that were once fought here, in these same waters and on the ships that were built in this area.

The reporter noticed the hospitality of the locals and described everyday life on the sea front, the wine cellars, fishing boats and small island bays. The island Šćedro was his final destination, where he visited the bay Mostir and the Dominican monastery.
