The family farming estate Jurković in Zmajevac (Baranja), named Kod Buljbe (At Buljba’s), is the first in the area of Slavonija and Baranja that offers guests the always popular sporting- tourist activity – golfing.
Although an 18-hole golf course has not yet been built they do offer a practice area, a golf school and a golf club.
The plan is to build a golf course and a small hotel. The owner explains his unusual entrepreneurial idea as a wish to enrich the traditional offer of Baranja which is mostly made up of wine cellars, restaurants and fiš-paprikaš (a traditional fish stew).
The estate Kod Buljbe is a resort that stretches on a surface larger than eight acres and is intended for individual, family and group sports activities.
It has a restaurant, a children`s playground and a lake which are all located in the beautiful surroundings of the Belje vineyards, fruit orchards and gardens.
The restaurant offers only autochthonous dishes – čobanac (shepherd`s stew), bean stew from a jug, fresh-water fish and, in the winter, pork or veal shank, sarma (sour cabbage filed with mince meat) and sekeli goulash (sauerkraut stew).
Also on offer are dishes baked in ‘peka’ (a domed clay or metal pot placed in an open hearth and heaped with hot coals) as well as ribs baked in a clay-oven.
Zmajevac is a place famous for its vineyards, wine roads and numerous wine cellars dug into the south side of the Baranja mount.
Zmajevac emerged out of the Roman colony Ad Novas and is first mentioned in historical documents in 1302 when the Pavlin monastery was reinstated.
