Outside the crowded tourist centers of the Adriatic, in a quiet valley Vinodol, in Crikvenica, 6 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea, is the ethno hotel "Balatura", surrounded by rugged hills and forests.

The three hundred year old family estate, consisting of four connected stone house was turned into a comfortable guest house, paying the importance to detailed reconstruction of historic buildings, which were supervised by conservators. It is an object that preserves the architectural heritage of Vinodol and has the status of general cultural property for tourism purposes.

The hotel has 10 double rooms offering full comfort, plasma TV, underfloor heating, and internet connection. Each room has been named after an indigenous coastal plant in whose color it has been painted and detailed - lavender, mugwort, olive, laurel, rosemary, cibor, lemon, sage, violets and wild thyme. All the listed plants grow in the hotel gardens. The entire hotel is equipped with antique furniture, and everything exudes luxury. The hotel has a small library, a dining room with large table and an old-fashioned fireplace, and on the ground floor a cellar where a variety of cultural performances and events are held.

Decorated with a desire to give a feeling of the past, at the same time provides guests with the comforts of modern life and offers a variety of food in which it combines tradition with culinary trends.

The hotel is open all year round and is ideal as a starting point for interesting trips to the mainland, islands and the forested mountain district, and provides great opportunities for active holidays. The hotel also attracts guests with its sculpture workshop, literary evenings and international literary festival.
