Dubrovnik - Lighthouse "Grebeni" welcomed its first guests
The lighthouse "Grebeni", located on the island with the same name situated about three hundred meters from the Dubrovnik tourist resort Babin Kuk and on the highest cliff on the eastern side of the entrance Velika Vrata, west of Dubrovnik's airport, was recently opened for tourists. The lighthouse, which has been welcoming ships since 1872 includes a vacation house which along with the lighthouse extends over more than 140 square meters. The vacation house includes three double and one single bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, hallway with an attractive old water cistern (gustijerna) and two spacious terraces with almost 350 square meters of space set with folding chairs and parasols. Given the size of the house and the island, the lighthouse can only accomodate seven people. In addition to the breakfast which guests choose and create on their own and which is delivered to the island by a special boat at the agreed time, guests who choose this vacation experience are offered transportation to Dubrovnik's Old Town centre only 2.5 miles away by a luxury boat. Surrounded by natural beauty, Dalmatian landscape, stone houses, vegetation and sea, guests can, if desired, use all the amenities of the Hotel Dubrovnik Palace at any time, which, like the lighthouse forms a part of the Adriatic Luxury Hotels Group. The additional services include a butler, top chef, and an express service – ordering any household service by telephone from the hotel. As a special attraction, guests can enjoy an underwater trip to Taranto, an Italian ship which sunk about 20 meters away from the lighthouse in 1943.
