“Visia Dubrovnik5D museum”, is a new tourist attraction to be available for visitors of this Croatian tourist gem in the south of the country already since beginning of June.
It is a museum which in an inventive way connects elements of amusement parks like Disneyland and Gardaland with elements of contemporary museums. Situated in the reconstructed monastery of St. Claire at the very entrance to the old town, the museum visitors will be guided in an exciting and unique way through history and culture features of Dubrovnik and Croatia with the aid of top 5D and Virtual Reality technology.
From the devastation of Epidaurus, socializing with St. Blasius, through arrival of Slavs and Avars, fights with the Saracens, all the way to the Homeland war and procession of St. Blasius on Stradun the history entirety has been rounded up. The visitors will be put in the heart of fourteen key event from the town's past with three-dimensional projections like those in multiplex cinemas, in the scenes of migration of Croats feel the wind from the mountain of Velebit and in the scene of the great earthquake of 1667, which is one of the most spectacular moments of the programme they will also feel the trembling of the floor.
This is the reason in the museum name the term 5D, instead of 3D is used. Holographic projections of Ivan Gundulić and other great persons are also very interesting. A holographic Gundulić, accompanied by laser and video projections, will teach the guests his poem “The freedom anthem”, remember on bombing of Dubrovnik and then lead them to an inter-active teaching of the dance linđo. A holographic pair of dancers is animated by hand clapping of visitors – the louder the hand-clapping the more pairs are dancing.
But even before the visitors engage into adventure of discovering the history of Dubrovnik and Croatia, they will leave their track in the virtual creation “World network RM”.
The visitors will, namely leave the photo of their palm, name and name of their country of origin and chose messages of peace, understanding and tolerance. The purpose of the organizers is to enter into the Guinness book of records with this creation, with the greatest number of participants. There are twenty three million Kuna invested in the project, and even Branko Lustig participated in it, a producer being several times awarded with an Oscar for best film.
