Bizovac – Bizovac spa becomes a health spa
The policlinic ‘Bizovačke toplice’ (Bizovac Spa), which is a major part of the Bizovac spa - a hotel-tourist complex in Slavonija which deals in medical rehabilitation - will become a medical facility in the beginning of 2011 and it will extend its services onto preventive health care, specialist and clinical rehabilitation. One part of the capacities of the Bizovac spa, famous for its source of salty thermal waters, will be adjusted to health tourism and the future needs of the health facility.

The Bizovac spa complex is located on a surface of 21000 square meters and holds 209 beds in the hotel Termia.

Incorporated into the hotel grounds is a multi intentional swimming pool complex ‘Aquapolis’ or ‘water city’, with nine different sized pools and many water attractions. Connected to Aquapolis are formally built thermal baths in the facilities of the Termia hotel, with two smaller pools of irregular shape, of which one is filled with regular and the other with warm medicinal thermo-mineral water.

All the current analyses are unique in their results which show that the thermal waters of Bizovac are the warmest iodine hyper-thermal waters is Europe. Such thermal waters are very rare in the world and were discovered in the Bizovac area in 1970 when to everyone`s surprise, during a search for oil and gas, from a depth of 1862 meters, hot water came out from one of the wells.

Bizovac is located 18 km from Osijek. The first written document in which it was mentioned dates back to 1333.
