Zagreb – The Jewish Film Festival
Zagreb is the host of a film festival, unique in the world, the only one that with its rich program of film projections, music events, world renowned directors, producers and actors, promotes Jewish culture as well as dialogue among the nations. This year the festival will be held from 22 - 28 May in ‘Europa’ cinema, one of the most beautiful and oldest art-cinemas in this area. Lovers of Jewish films and culture will be able to enjoy free screenings of the best films throughout the day, while in the evening they will be able to enjoy music events. This year, organizers have prepared around 40 film projections in the categories of short, documentary and feature films. All the projections have been adapted to visitors from abroad and will be shown with English subtitles. The Fifth Jewish Film Festival has been dedicated to women in the Holocaust and life stories of young girls, women, mothers and wives during the Second World War, celebrating their strength, love, faith and devotion. Visitors will also be able to see films about Jewish traditions and culture, as well as events from recent history.

From 2009, as part of the festival program, a special project has been introduced which aims to educate young people about the Holocaust, under the name «Edukacijska jutra» (education mornings), in which 3500 pupils and students have participated so far.
The honorary president of the Jewish Film Festival is Branko Lustig, a producer with two Oscars earned for the films «Schindler`s List » and «The Gladiator».
