The youth hostel Zadar, the largest one in Croatia, has raised its quality after a spring refurbishment and makeover. Competely refurbished was the back yard, which is during the summer months the central location for all the events on offer at the hostel, and by tearing down the outer walls a view towards the sea and the sunset has been obtained. New accommodation space, in the form of a few more rooms for the disabled, has been accomplished by this refurbishment. A few pavilions have also recieved a makeover. Up until this year the hostel had 308 beds in total, from which only one pavilion with 93 beds was in the so-called higher category, where each room has its own sanitary facilities.

Now there is another pavilion with 83 beds that has jumped into this category.

The hostel is located next to the city beach on Vitrenjak and contains three multi purpose halls which have the necessary equipment for various types of meetings, a restaurant and bar, a luggage room, internet access, a tourist information point, a sports court, a laundrette and a parking lot. It is open throughout the year and because of the quality of the accommodation and affordability it is very popular among the hostel population.
