The Istrian camp Lanterna near Poreč will enter the elite association Leading Campings of Europe (LCE) which gathers the best campsites across the old continent. The Poreč camp will find itself in the most elite company, which from around 21000 campsites all together, gathers only 32 of them. The camp Zaton near Zadar has also been amog them since 2008. Croatia will have two representatives in this international camping association, the same as Spain, the Netherlands and Austria.

Valamar`s camp Lanterna stretches over 80 acres and can accommodate around nine thousand guests. The campsite stretches along a three kilometre beach that carries a blue flag.

The elite association Leading Campings of Europe was founded in 1994 with the headquaters in Dusseldorf and brings together the best campsites on the old continent. The association has become a benchmark for the quality of camping and the campsites that are members are the owners of the most prestigious awards and markings of quality.
