After the shut down, tabloid The News of the World concluded that the beaches Zrće and the club Papaya in Novalja on the island of Pag are the most desirable world tourist destinations among youths. The British Daily Mail published praises for the same beaches as well. The journalist of the British newspaper was amazed by the partying around the clock as well as the pretty girls.
The crystal blue sea, the beautiful sunsets, the great restarants and especially the clubs on Zrće such as Papaya, are the key for Croatian tourism, wrote Marcus Barens. He writes that Papaya is a hot spot for crazy summer entertainment and that since this club was first opened about ten years ago, it has hosted numerous world famous DJs.
Crazy summer parties are held here and this beach never sleeps, just like Miami. I have never seen an open beach club like Papaya, wrote the British journalist. He added that the DJ Swedish House Mafia boasted to him about playing the best gig ever on Zrće. Visitors described preformaces by different DJs to the journalist, such as the performance of the American producer David Morales last year, who said that Papaya was fantastic even when it is raining and that he had never seen anything like it.
In the article, he adds that Croatia has many beautiful sites which should be visited and that anyone who visits in the summer goes back home with fantastic experiences.
The praised Papaya club stretches on 3000 squre metres and was opened in 2002. The story of Zrće, as a favourite party place for Croatia`s youth began at the end of the 90`s of the last century, when alongside the already existing Kalypso Club, Papaya and later Aquarius also opened their doors. These clubs offered something that you could not find anywhere else on the Adriatic. They organized various events, hosted numerous performers and DJs, the programs were enriched by many dancers and hostesses and in due time more and more foreign tourists began discovering the magic of Zrće beach, which today has a reputation for being one of the best places for summer entertainment.
