Croatian resorts are in 15th place among 40 countries, judgeing by prices of selected food products and "pleasure" items, according to a survey from the British website Post Office Travel Money.
The study compared, prices of products and supplies among the resorts around the world used on a daily basis by tourists on holiday, like a cup of coffee, beer, mineral water (1.5 liters), soda, sunscreen, bug spray, dinner for two persons (three courses) and one pack of cigarettes.
According to research, a shopping basket with the listed products, in a Croatian resort amounts to 70.61 euro, which ranks Croatia 15th in the world. The cheapest country was Sri Lanka, where the basket was 33.80 euros, the second place in Spain where the same products were 45.62 euros, which is about 35 percent cheaper than in Croatia.
The Czech Republic (with 47.86 euros), Bulgaria (47.95 euros) and Mexico (53.26 euros), are still among the cheapest countries, while the most expensive is Australia, where it all costs a little less than 140 euros.
