Qaud rides – four wheel motorcycles or as they are popularly called AVT`s (All Terrain Vehicles) are becoming a more and more popular type of entertainment among the urban youth. And when this is done in a perfect ambience it is an experience for all the senses! In Gorski kotar, in Fužine to be precise, they have thought up a two day program during which participants can take part in the basic or advanced type of program, depending on their driving experience.

There are six different routes along vrious types of roads. For those less experienced, there is panoramic sightseeing along previously aranged routes, accompanied by an experienced instructor, while more experienced drivers can have independent rides, with orientation according to GPS devices in the quad bikes.

Riders can view the beautiful forests of Fužine, the Lokvarka cave, the Park forest Golubinjak, the Devil`s passage and Fužine, a place with a long mining tradition which originates from the 17th century when iron minerals were dug up there. This is how this place got its name – the procedure was called fužinarstvo, from the German phrase fusioniren. But Fužine also have a long tourism tradition. Passing through this place was the ancient Karolina road (from 1737) so even in those times there were resting places along it, while later, in the 19th century there were organized trips to Fužine from Rijeka, Sušak and other coastal towns. The first organized trip of that kind was noted in 1874.

The fact that it lays on three lakes- Bajer, Lepenica and Potkoš, gives Fužine a special charm. The participants of the ATV weekend usually stay in hotel Bitoraj. The hotel is located in the very centre of Fužine. It was completely renovated in 2007 and offers top comodity and a large choice of indigenous local dishes.

Apart from Fužine, the participants of the ATV safari can ride their quads to Ogulin, which is 35 km away, where there are also numerous sites to be seen.
