Ludbreg is primarily known for being an important spiritual centre for the faithful from all over Europe. This Croatian shrine was founded in a written decree by the Holy Father himself, as a holy place where the Precious Blood of Jesus is honoured.
According to local legend, Ludbreg is considered to be at the centre of the world. It is true that many of the world's cities sit on concentric circles where the centre is precisely in Ludbreg. Visit the Batthyany castle, and the chapel of Sv. Križ [St. Cross]; taste the Ludbreg wine that flows only in the centre of the world - the fountain; eat something sweet with the bakery and honey products and homemade cakes.
Enjoy the music, dance and song of the tambourine players, brass bands, majorettes and folklore groups!
