It is located right at the heart of the island of Murter in a necklace of islands that include the nearby villages of Tisno and Jezera, has countless traces of the past ( the Roman settlement Colentum), and is surrounded by a variety of nature parks (Vrana) and local sights of interest (Prosica).
The village's symbols are the baroque church of sv. Frane [St. Francis] with its bell tower, the local square with the harbour on the sea and the local shipyard, which, apart from the one in Korčula, is the oldest in the Adriatic. There are two campsites in the nearby bays of Plitka vala and Kosirina, and in the town itself there is Betina marina as well as numerous catering facilities that are by the most famous for their fish dishes. Sailors visiting the Kornati National Park and the nearby islands are happy to moor here.
Due to its location and authenticity, Betina is one of the most beautiful places on the Croatian Adriatic!
Another picturesque island is Murter, having a surface area of 18 square kilometers. Murter is an island of fishermen, olive groves and shipbuilders.
