Basic information

The “Oštro idro” regatta “DJIR PO KONALU” manifestation is a sailboat race held within the Pašman channel regatta of old sailboats, ships with lateens and trevas. After extensive preparations and in a healthy competitive atmosphere, sailors compete in the aforementioned disciplines. The first race was held in 2007, and subsequent events followed in 2008 and 2009. The aims of the event are raising awareness about the area’s identity, establishing a cultural cooperation between island residents of the Šibenik and Zadar areas, and introducing young people and guests with the traditional ways of navigating through the Šibenik and Zadar archipelagos. Elementary school and kindergarten children have the unique chance to find out more about the traditional ways of sailing the seas. The event is also vital for the enrichment of the tourism offer of the island of Pašman, the city of Zadar, and thus the Republic of Croatia. An event like the “Oštro idro” bears great importance for a small village such as Tkon. In 2014, “Sharp sail” will be held on 13. july in organization of Tourist office Tkon and association “Frkata” in place call Uginić on island Pašman. The “Latinsko idro” manifestation will also serve as an official starting point for this year’s tourist season.
