Dubrovnik Summer Festival

10 July 2015 - 25 August 2015

Basic information

Basic information

Dubrovnik Summer Festival was first held in 1956. Being the oldest cultural festival in Croatia, its history mandates a rich and vibrant program in the fields of theater, ballet, classic music and opera. Naturally, the festival is loved equally across Europe and further, with regular attendees traveling across the world to enjoy Dubrovnik's sea, landscapes and food during the summer in addition to attending the festival. The beautiful city of Dubrovnik plays an important role for the festival: its ancient walls and surroundings are the stage to the events, and not one bit less important than the theater performances themselves. Classic theater and ballet productions are held on the town streets and squares, making the Dubrovnik deeply immersed in the festival. Dubrovnik Summer Festival always hosts the world's most famous composers, soloists and orchestras. This year's 66th festival will not be any different. There is literally no other place in the world which could host the Czech Philharmonic, the Hallé Orchestra, the French Radio Orchestra, the Suisse Romande Orchestra, the RAI Symphony Orchestra and many chamber and vocal ensembles all at the same time.
